HQS INSPECTIONS

Huntington Housing Authority Housing Quality Standards

THHA inspects your unit when you first lease it to an THHA program participant and at least every 24 months thereafter.
THHA inspection process focuses on possible health or safety hazards like, a smoke alarm with a dead battery, or an outlet without a switch plate – what the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) calls Housing Quality Standards (HQS).

Please examine your unit carefully and be prepared prior to the THHA scheduled inspection. THHA cannot enter into a Housing Assistance Payment Contract with the owner if the unit fails the initial HQS inspection.  The sooner the unit passes inspection, the sooner the unit may be able to go under a Housing Assistance Payments (HAP) contract with THHA.
The forms and link below are additional resources regarding the HQS process.
