Town of Huntington Housing Authority/Gateway Gardens

The Huntington Housing Authority (HHA) is an independent public corporation established by state law to provide federally subsidized public housing for low-income residents within the Huntington area. The HHA owns the Gateway Gardens housing complex. The complex consists of 40 apartments located on Lowndes Avenue just south of the New York Avenue intersection. The development, built in 1968, provides housing for 30 families and 10 elderly/disabled households. The units and the community room are contained in five two-story walk-up buildings. There is shared rear yard space and a small recreational area for the children.
